News & Notes
Please remember Marge Novy in your prayers. As you may know, she volunteered many hours organizing our library. Marge passed away on Saturday, February 17th after a long battle with cancer. I am sure her spirit is watching over all those who visit our Library.
We will now have the ability to list our holdings on the new Library page on the Wheaton Franciscan website. It can be found under the About Us tab, or you can click this handy link. On the webpage, we will feature current and past issues of News & Notes, as well as updated information on our books.
This Month's Featured Book
"The Guide to Healthy Eating" by M.D. David Brownstein
This book got my attention and it may help others who are inundated with all the information we get through the media and diet associations on what people should and should not eat. Food is our best medicine – this book will help answer questions on healthy food choices.
New Arrivals are now prominently shelved in our library for easy browsing. A listing of our New Arrivals can be found here. We hope this list will entice you to stop by soon. Suggested titles for future purchase and your feedback is welcome.
Book Donation Guidelines
We have been receiving quite a few donations of books for our library in the past months. Since we have limited space, we would like to share the guidelines we use to determine whether we will keep a book.
- We accept books in the category of spirituality, justice, peace and integrity of creation, servant leadership, health and wellness. We are not able to accept any novels or books on general history, science, philosophy, business, etc.
- Books should be new or gently used. We are not able to accept books that are heavily highlighted, underlined, or written in.
- Books should be less than 10 years old. We may accept some older books if it is considered a classic in the spirituality category.
